ABOUT US

Located in Bath, Michigan (15 Minutes East of Lansing)on Center road(Appointments only)We have our backyard Rabbitry that we call “The Rabbitry Center.” We raise purebred New Zealand’s. We record our day to day operations and specialize in tutorial videos to help folks get started with their productions.  We offer an online Mini course for beginners and also a Full Rabbitry Business Course with hours of video curriculum when you’re ready to take your Rabbitry to the next level and start profiting. We breed four bucks and rotate four doe’s providing unrelated and different color rabbits for our customers. It doesn’t take long to make more rabbits but we try to stay small so we can still give every rabbit personal attention and have time to produce free video content for our YouTube Channel.

Our Rabbitry

We take pride in raising healthy rabbits and providing high-quality breeding stock to our community.

Our rabbits receive fresh water every 12 hours and are fed a nutritious, high-quality pellet along with hay each day. We also supplement their diet with fresh herbs and vegetables that we grow ourselves—many of which we share inside our Feed Course.

Each rabbit is handled regularly and carefully inspected to ensure excellent health and temperament. We never wean our rabbits too early, allowing them to develop strong immune systems from the start. Raised outdoors, our rabbits are naturally acclimated to Michigan’s hot summers and cold winters.

On our property, we raise both rabbits and honeybees (Tap here for bee info). Using raised beds, food plots, trees, and hedges, we grow much of the feed that supports both our rabbits and our bees.

About New Zealand's

First off—they’re American.

Even though they’re called New Zealand rabbits, this is actually an American breed that originated in California. The breed was developed using Belgian Hares and Flemish Giants, with some stock imported from New Zealand.

Originally, New Zealands were bred to meet the demands of the meat and fur trade in the early 20th century, particularly following the Great Depression.

Today, they are known as a hardy and reliable breed. New Zealand rabbits typically live 7–10 years and weigh around 10–12 pounds. Bucks are generally smaller than does, and mature females develop a dewlap—a fold of fur under the chin. This dewlap stores fat that can be used as extra energy during pregnancy and lactation.

New Zealands are highly productive as a farm breed, but they are also calm, gentle, and make excellent companions. Despite their size, they are remarkably docile and easy to handle. They are intelligent animals that can be trained to perform simple tasks, such as coming when called or using a litter box. Many will even get along well with cats and dogs in a family setting.

New Zealand rabbits come in several colors, including red, white, black, blue, and broken. Sometimes, mixing colors can produce “steel” coats, which have a highlighted or peppered appearance. However, this color is not currently recognized by the American Rabbit Breeders Association.

Whether you’re looking to start breeding, raise rabbits for farming, or simply want a great pet, New Zealands are an excellent all-around choice. As an added bonus, they’re also a consistent source of high-quality fertilizer for your garden.
